1. Business Details

TG Specialist Plastering is the trading name of Tom Goldfinch, a sole trader based in England and Wales. The business is based in Whitstable, Kent and serves customers across East Kent. For enquiries, contact tgplastering2011@gmail.com or call 07885 477664.

2. Quotes and Pricing

  • All quotes are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
  • Quotes are based on the information provided and, where possible, an inspection of the property. If site conditions differ from those described or discovered once work begins (for example hidden damp, unstable backgrounds or previous repairs), we reserve the right to discuss and agree a revised price before continuing.
  • Prices are as quoted. Any additional work requested after the quote is accepted will be priced and agreed separately.

3. Bookings, Cancellations and Your Rights

  • Work is scheduled once a quote is accepted and a convenient start date agreed.
  • Please give as much notice as possible if you need to change or cancel a booking. Late cancellations may incur a reasonable charge to cover materials already purchased and reserved time.
  • If you are a consumer and the contract was agreed away from our premises (for example by phone, email or WhatsApp), you may have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start work within that period, you may be charged for work carried out and materials used before cancellation.
  • We reserve the right to reschedule work due to weather or circumstances outside our control, with as much notice as possible. Wet or cold weather in particular can make external rendering and lime work unsafe to carry out.

4. Workmanship and Site Access

  • All work is carried out to a professional standard using methods and materials appropriate to the property, including traditional lime techniques where specified.
  • The customer agrees to provide reasonable access to the property and a clear working area, including moving furniture, coverings and personal items away from the areas to be worked on before we arrive.
  • Plaster and render need time to cure. Curing and drying times are estimates, not guarantees, and depend on temperature, humidity and ventilation. Lime plaster in particular cures slowly, typically around 7 to 10 days per coat in reasonable conditions, and this cannot be rushed.
  • Details of insurance cover are available on request.
  • Our guarantee covers defects in our workmanship. Any suspected defect should be reported to us promptly so we can inspect it and, where it is a workmanship issue, put it right free of charge. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by structural movement, damp from other sources, impact damage or failure to allow proper curing.

5. Materials

  • All materials supplied remain the property of TG Specialist Plastering until payment is received in full.
  • We select materials suited to the job, but we are not responsible for the performance of third-party manufacturers' products beyond the terms of their own warranties.

6. Payment

  • Payment is due on completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing before the work starts.
  • For larger jobs, staged payments may be agreed in advance.
  • We accept bank transfer and cash.

7. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for indirect losses, including redecoration of areas outside the agreed scope of work, delays caused by weather or curing times, or business interruption. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Website Use

This website is provided for information purposes. We take reasonable care to keep it accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee that all information is complete or current at all times.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
